BACKGROUND
PEDIGREE® Brand Food for Dogs sponsors the Westminster Kennel Club dog show each year. This premier event is held at the famed Madison Square Garden in New York, NY. PEDIGREE® has been the primary sponsor for the last twenty-three years. It is the most prestigious dog show in the United States and arguably worldwide. The PEDIGREE® Awards Dinner is the unofficial kickoff to the Westminster weekend.

PEDIGREE® Awards Dinner
February 13, 2010

American Museum of Natural History

This is a fun and eventful awards dinner for dog lovers and the dog community that takes center stage on Saturday night at the American Museum of Natural History. In keeping with the PEDIGREE® Brand Value “everything we do is for the love of dogs”, we recognize individuals and organizations who have done great things for dogs. Please note that the PEDIGREE® Awards Dinner is a black tie dinner. The event begins with a cocktail hour followed by a formal seated meal. The entertainment is dancing to a live 9-piece band. At the dinner you will be recognized on the front stage where you will receive your award. You will not be asked to make an acceptance speech.

Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show
 February 15 & 16, 2010
Daytime: 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Nighttime: 8:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Madison Square Garden

If you choose to stay for the Westminster Kennel Club dog show, box seats are available for you and a guest. The box seat tickets provide you with access to all facets of the dog show including the benching areas, vendors and the judging of the dogs. Also this includes a preferred seat for the final judging each evening which is held from 8:00 to 11:00PM.  This is the judging that is seen on TV of each variety group.  Monday night is Sporting, Toy, Non- Sporting and Herding Group judging and Tuesday is Hound, Working and Terrier Group judging as well as the Best in Show competition.

EXPENSES
As a PEDIGREE® Award winner we will provide for you and one guest's travel to and from New York, hotel accommodations and daily stipend of $150 (to cover meals and incidentals). I will assist with your travel plans as well as your accommodations. Our host hotel is the famed Waldorf-Astoria. I need for you to provide me with the following travel information by the end of the day, Thursday, January 14, in order to make your necessary reservations:

Full name of you and your guest
Full contact information for you including your address, mobile phone, home phone and e-mail
Flight information
Airport of departure
Arrival date and departure date
Preferred time of day to depart from home and return to home
If you intend to stay for the Westminster Kennel Club dog show
Type of room
One or two beds
Smoking or non-smoking

When you arrive in NY please collect your bags and take a taxi to the Waldorf-Astoria hotel. The hotel address is 301 Park Avenue, New York, NY 10022, 212-355-3000. Please be prepared to pay for the taxi ride to the Waldorf-Astoria hotel. We have calculated the taxi ride to and from the NY airport in your stipend. You will receive all of your dinner tickets, dog show tickets and stipend when you check into the Waldorf-Astoria hotel.

In addition I will need a picture of you for the video presentation of the PEDIGREE® Awards Dinner. A high resolution picture is preferred. The picture should be representative of the PEDIGREE® Award that you have won. We have found that pictures taken outside work best.
